Biography

Prof. Owen Ngumi is an Associate Professor of Psychology, a university academic leader and administrator, educationist, counselor, and researcher with nineteen (19) years’ experience in secondary school and university. He is a holder of a Ph.D. in Counselling Psychology, and he has research interests in career and educational counseling, with several publications: papers in refereed journals, conference proceedings, teaching modules, training materials, and presentation materials.  As a counselor he has great interests in helping others and more specifically in building their capacities in all aspects of the human person. Besides teaching and research, he is involved in motivational speaking, trainings, and consultancies in the private sector as well as in the public sector. He is an IFC Certified Trainer in Corporate Governance. Dr. Ngumi is also in interested in business and entrepreneurship; he holds directorships and partnerships in several companies running several businesses. He has extensive research skills including digital management of data using Open Data Kit (ODK) and Spreadsheet Software. Always ready to take responsibilities, Ngumi has held and continues to hold many leadership positions formally and informally.
